Providing superior customer service and a knowledgeable dealer network, Firecom leads the way in communication technology - continually focusing on quality hearing protection, ease of use, and affordability.
Without an intercom installed in the fire vehicle, hearing critical radio transmissions over sirens and horns is often difficult. Communication among crew members becomes all about volume; they have to shout to be heard. Firecom's on-scene communication starts with exterior headset positions that can be installed at the pump panel, tiller, and bucket. Outside the cab, on-scene radio communications can include the added benefit of hearing protection as required by the NFPA. The handheld radio interface connects a Firecom headset to your portable radio to let crew members move freely.
The first Firecom intercom system was introduced in 1990 at the Fire Department Instructors Conference. Since that time, Firecom has maintained a very close relationship with fire departments, striving to research and develop new advancements, always improving safety and communication effectiveness.
